Barnali Chakraborty

Behavioral & Social Insights Specialist | Community-Based One Health Specialist | Conservationist

Barnali Chakraborty is a field researcher and Nature Enthusiast with a multidisciplinary background in psychology, law, and mathematics. She has worked with diverse communities across Northeast India, including forest fringe regions, with a focus on social perception, indigenous knowledge systems, conflicts, livelihood and health behavior. Her work emphasizes participatory methodologies, behavioral insights, grounded research, and social analysis, contributing to inclusive, community-based One Health interventions

When not immersed in behavioural mapping or participatory fieldwork, you’ll likely find her scribbling thoughts into notebooks, painting in imperfect symmetry, or curating music. She travels not just for landscapes, but for people and stories—quiet observations of nature often sneak into both her work and her writing. As for cooking… that’s a hobby too, though she admits enthusiasm and results don’t always arrive together!
